ramaa reflects...
About God:
Having travelled and seen
people across different faiths, I find not one thing on the outside that all
people of faith have in common. What is sacred to one is sacrilege to
another. Yet at their journey’s end everybody ends up at the same
place….eyes closed, focused within. Searching for what is common led me to
that place - deep within , a place untouched by perception. At that place
there is just pure attention. For me, that is God….pure awareness in the
here and now, in this very moment.
about yoga, meditation and
self-awareness:
Yoga is
an extremely important first step. It releases deep rooted fears lodged at
the physical level, like weeding out an uninvited guest.
It has
to be followed by meditation so you can spot that which has been dislodged.
Mindfulness or Self-awareness is the final step when you hold the unwanted
guest by the hand and lead him to the door.
about fear and faith:
Man, in the early stages of evolution, is
rooted in fear. Over lifetimes he eradicates fear, one at a time, all the
while slowly but surely moving to faith. This journey from fear to faith is
bridged with the vehicle of Sadhana: a vehicle driven by mindfulness,
fueled by faith and trust in the Universe.
about
giving:
Everyday we read or hear about terrible
things happening in the world. We spend a lot of energy dwelling on the dark
side of life but remember: it is better to light a candle than to curse the
darkness.
Instead of brooding about the evils in
this world shift your focus to people who are trying to eradicate that
darkness and put your energy there. Give in whatever form you can, as much
as you can. As they say, the smallest act is better than the greatest
intention.
If you are looking for a charitable cause do consider:
Interfaith

Their mission is to provide
comprehensive services to help refugees, asylees, and immigrants lead safe,
self-sufficient lives.
Other:
In
addition to financial help, refugees are happy to receive anything that we don't need. Helen Sweitzer, a Wilmette
mom has made
it her mission to get the community’s resources moving to where it can be
put to better use.
