FBL Cares, Inc.
In an effort to raise awareness and improve life by facilitating mindfulness, Ramaa created the nonprofit organization Grow Through Mindfulness, to serve various communities including schools, corporations, and hospitals.
Mindfulness leads to engagement. When we start to see, and care, and recognize and change our own patterns, and address our own stress, we naturally get excited about it and want to help others. In the words of the Mindfulness Master Thich Nhat Hanh we understand that true happiness is not only an individual matter, but is something to be shared.
In the news: In an effort to engage mindfully, FBLCares has been supporting families facing homelessness in the Chicago area, and has introduced mindfulness, meditation and self-reflection to youth in at-risk situations. These initiatives have earned Ramaa the Gregory Maire Leadership Award from La Casa Norte (www.lacasanorte.org), one of our partners in engagement.
