FBL Cares, Inc.

Engaging human, material, and financial resources

to support and grow mindful communities.

The newly formed not-for-profit, FBL Cares, Inc., has two essential and interconnected causes: Grow Through Mindfulness, and Grow Through Engagement.

“Meditation and Self-Awareness is the first step to raising consciousness. But our work is to bring that down and ground it in our day-to-day life. When we take the seeds of greater presence, patience and wisdom and cultivate it in our classrooms, our relationships, and our communities, we play our part in transforming the world that we live in. Take a look at our activities and see how you can join us in changing the world, one life at a time!”

–Ramaa Krishnan, founder of Full Bloomed Lotus

In an effort to bring mindfulness and inner work into various communities, including schools, corporations, and hospitals, Ramaa created GTM. Having already entered several schools in Chicago’s North Shore area, our educators, trained to explain mindfulness in a secular manner, are sowing the seeds of wisdom and cultivating kindness and compassion in young minds. GTM’s work with school communities is receiving rave reviews from education providers and students alike.

Grow Through Engagement (GTE)

In recognizing that happiness in not an individual matter and that peace for the individual is difficult without peace in the collective, Ramaa created Project Engage, the first initiative under Grow Through Engagement.  Project Engage supports families facing homelessness in the Chicago area, and has introduced mindfulness, meditation and self-reflection to youth in at-risk situations.  As a result, Ramaa was awarded the Gregory Maire Leadership Award from La Casa Norte.
