WHAT THIS METHOD IS

A Path as Old as the Lotus Itself

The Yoga of Self-Love Method is a structured path of inner child healing developed by Ramaa Krishnan over 26 years of teaching, study, and her own transformational journey — chronicled in her award-winning book The Yoga of Self-Love: The Sacred Path to Wholeness and Healing through Inner-Child Work.

It is not therapy. It is wisdom work — drawing from the traditions of yoga philosophy, Buddhism, Advaita Vedanta, and the body's own map of consciousness: the chakra system. It offers something most healing frameworks stop short of: not just understanding your wounds, but transforming them — and in doing so, transforming the very ground you came from.

The inner child is not a metaphor. She is your original self — the soul as nature made you, before conditioning shaped you into who the world needed you to be. That conditioning lives in the body, organized along the chakra system: root to crown, earth to sky, wound to wholeness. Healing follows the same path upward. We begin in the oldest places — the tribal stories, the inherited fears, the first wounds — and we rise, one chakra at a time, until the inner child and the inner adult are no longer two. That reunion is the Yoga of Self-Love.

THE LOTUS AS MAP

The Journey from Seed to Full Bloom

The lotus is the soul of this method. It grows in mud — not despite it, but because of it. The wound is the mud. Without it, there is no bloom. And in the final stage, something extraordinary happens: the lotus does not simply rise from the mud and leave it behind. It transforms the very pool it came from. The personal healing becomes collective. The inner work ripples outward — into family, community, and the shared pool of human consciousness. This is what the ancient traditions call Interbeing.

🌱

Stage 1 — Seed in the Mud

Root & Sacral Chakras · Muladhara · Svadhisthana

Beneath the surface. The wound is inherited and unconscious. We do not yet know what we are capable of becoming — only the weight of the water above us

Where did I learn I wasn't enough?

🪷

Stage 2 — Taking Root

Solar Plexus Chakra · Manipura

The roots go deeper into the mud before the stem can rise. This is the stage of going toward the wound, not away from it. We name the shame, map the inner landscape, and find the ground of real power.

What did I build to protect myself?

Stage 3 — Rising Through Water

Heart Chakra · Anahata

The stem climbs through murky water toward light it cannot yet see. Old beliefs are examined and released. Fear gives way to faith. Believing Before Seeing becomes not a platitude but a practice. The heart — the bridge between the lower and upper chakras — begins to open.

What must I release to let love in?

Stage 4 — Breaking the Surface

Throat & Third Eye Chakras · Vishuddha · Ajna

First contact with sunlight and air. Truth becomes speakable. Intuition sharpens. Triggers are recognized as mirrors. The healed inner child becomes not just a private relationship but a way of moving through the world.

How does my healed self meet the world?

🌸

Stage 5 — The Full Bloom

Crown Chakra · Sahasrara

The lotus opens, facing the sun, untouched by the mud and water it came through — and transforms the very pool it grew from. The inner child and the inner adult are no longer two. The personal and the universal are revealed as one. We arrive not at a destination, but at a way of being.

Where does the personal end and the universal begin?

THE REPARENTING PRACTICE

P.A.R.E.N.T. — Six Steps, One for Each Chakra

At the Heart of This Journey

Woven through the five stages is a reparenting practice called P.A.R.E.N.T. — six steps, one for each chakra center, that become the living tools of your healing. Each step corresponds to a specific energy center in the body and a specific act of love toward the inner child. Together they form a complete path of tending to the child within — not from guilt or obligation, but from the deep recognition that she has always deserved this care.

THE CORE PRACTICES

Six Practices That Carry You Through

These are the living tools of the method — simple in form, profound in practice. Each one builds, over time, into a new way of relating to yourself.

The Love Letter

Written dialogue with your inner child — the practice of turning toward her.

The Embrace Medication

Holding the inner child close, breathing as one.

Emotional Digestion

Processing old memories — feeling, acknowledging, releasing.

The Love Supplement

A daily dose of intentional self-love — because what you give yourself every day matters.

The Forgiveness Letter

Using Active Imagination to bring you the closure you need.

Sangha

Community as the third. We heal in relationship, not only in solitude.

These practices are learned and deepened through the journey itself — in private sessions, in the group container, or on retreat. They are not techniques to acquire. They are ways of being to cultivate.

HOW TO WORK WITH THIS METHOD

Three Ways to Walk the Path

The Yoga of Self-Love Method is available in three formats — each drawing from the same five stages and six practices, held at different depths and paces. The path is the same. The container adapts to where you are.

1:1

Private Session with Ramaa

The most intimate format — all five stages at your own pace, with Ramaa's full attention at every step. Available as the Inner Child Work package (13 sessions) or as a shared group journey (14 sessions, 3 to 6 people).

GROUP

Course or Program

The five stages across a structured 10 to 12-week arc, with weekly teachings, guided practices, and group sangha built into the container.

In-person or online. Join Ramaa's newsletter to be the first to know when this launches.

IMMERSIVE

Retreat

A multi-day sacred experience held in the spirit of the Yoga of Self-Love Method. A time of reflection, meditation, and deep inner work. A powerful way to begin, deepen, or renew the work. See Ramaa's Annual Fall Retreat

WHERE THE METHOD CAME FROM

The Living Companion

The Yoga of Self-Love Method was born from Ramaa's own journey — the wounds, the turning points, the teachings that arrived exactly when they were needed. All of it is chronicled in her award-winning book The Yoga of Self-Love: The Sacred Path to Wholeness and Healing through Inner-Child Work, published in 2024.

The book is a prescriptive memoir — part personal story, part wisdom teaching, with practices at the end of every chapter. It is the living companion to this method, and every participant in the private journey receives a signed copy to read alongside the work. Reading it and doing the work together is the full experience of the Yoga of Self-Love.

Ready to Begin the Journey?

Whether you are drawn to private work with Ramaa, a group experience, or a retreat, the path begins with a single step.

"The lotus does not just rise from the mud. It transforms it. That is what this work is — not escape from your story, but its transformation into the ground of your wholeness."

-— RAMAA KRISHNAN, THE YOGA OF SELF-LOVE
